Recently restored, the Opera Duomo Museum is certainly the largest collection of sacred art in the city of Florence.
Born in the ancient spaces dedicated to the marble workshops of the Cathedral’s stonemasons, the museum houses the original masterpieces designed to decorate the monuments of Piazza San Giovanni.
Inside, there are the original doors of the Baptistery, the Pietà Bandini by Michelangelo, the Maddalena Penitente and many other masterpieces of Florentine sculpture from the fourteenth to the sixteenth century.
